Disclaimer: There is no Trader Joe's in Hawai'i. I may or may not be making up for the past 10 years here.
OMG IT'S FALL AT TRADER JOE'S!!!!!!!
That was how I felt walking into the store yesterday.
I love the summer offerings there too - especially the Jalapeno Limeade - but in my humble opinion, nothing compares to this time of year. The season of festivity is setting in and man oh man, I'm ready for it!
Walking straight into the bakery section is usually okay, because I'm more of a savory person over sweets, but this visit was a whole different story. Right off the bat: GLIMMERING pumpkin cookies (sparkles on a freaking cookie - YES! Totally reminds me of my childhood haha.) staring right at me, then... as if the heavens opened up, I turned the corner, cut off another lady (only kind of!), and got the very last box of APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS! Sadly they didn't make the picture because they are at the bottom of the basket, but oh sweetness... put that sucker in the microwave for 15-20 seconds and you have yourself the best treat outside the orchard!
The pumpkin (cinnamon) rolls were being sampled, and all I can say is I'm glad someone put out the tray and left, because Josh and I each had three and I don't want to be judged. I just want more pumpkin rolls... Needless to say this was our easiest buy.
We actually came to TJ's to pickup some Butternut Squash Ravioli. I wanted a "Fall dinner" and the sweetness of the butternut squash in these is unreal. But now there's Honey Roasted Pumpkin Ravioli?! I looked at Josh in a panic, thinking "what do we do now?!" He instantly grabbed one of each without any hesitation. THIS GUY KNOWS THE WAY TO MY HEART!!!!
We typically pair the raviolis with EVOO/fresh garlic, parsley, and pepper flakes, or a little bit of white sauce (our plan today). Thankfully, Josh barely noticed the Autumnal Harvest Alfredo Sauce (bottom right of photo) before we walked away. It's made with both butternut squash and pumpkin, and I have a feeling we'll be using this often throughout the season!
My last bit of excitement came from these frozen pumpkin waffles. Everyone struggles to find a decent quick breakfast, right?! Between needing something fast, easy, cheap, and portable - these puppies check all the boxes! Adding cookie butter (or the new apple cider jam that I somehow didn't buy...) is just an extra bonus :)
There are so many fall goodies in store right now! I'm curious to try the pumpkin tortilla chips and thai style harvest soup next.
